My Credentials
Raised in New Thought (click on arrow for more)
While I didn’t always appreciate church as a child, it gave me a foundation in self-inquiry and personal transformation. I was raised in Religious Science, a branch of the broader New Thought movement, which emphasizes the power of mind, spiritual principles, and personal growth. Though my understanding deepened through direct experience later in life, this early framework shaped my path. It allows me to support clients in a way that meets their individual needs—whether they’re looking for practical guidance, deeper self-awareness, or a more spiritual perspective.
“A Course in Miracles” student – 1980-200?
In 1980, I was deeply unhappy and searching for something that truly resonated. A Course in Miracles provided the direct experience that Religious Science—and every other spiritual path I explored—had only pointed to. It was a transformative shift that shaped my understanding of inner peace and self-awareness. This depth of experience allows me to guide clients beyond intellectual concepts and into real, lasting transformation.
BS in Physics, Cal State University at Long Beach, 1989
After diving deep into spiritual practice and thought, I realized I needed something solid to ground me—and that’s when physics came into play. It taught me how to evaluate evidence, think clearly, and stay focused. This practical, thoughtful approach now guides my everyday life and forms the foundation for the down-to-earth coaching I share with you.
MS in Atmospheric Sciences – UCLA, 1994
I earned my MS in Atmospheric Sciences from UCLA in 1994, driven by a lifelong fascination with weather. Growing up in weather-deprived Southern California, I was captivated by local weather phenomena. Under the guidance of my advisor, I contributed to research on California tornadoes and helped reveal that a small area near Santa Ana and Irvine experiences tornado activity I comparable to parts of Tornado Alley—though the storms are weaker and shorter-lived.
During my time at UCLA, I also served as a physics teacher’s assistant, an experience that ignited my passion for teaching and sharing knowledge. This experience sparked my passion for teaching both in the classroom and one-on-one, ultimately laying the groundwork for my future in tutoring and coaching.
Life Coaching Certification, Life Purpose Institute, 2016
I earned my coaching certificate from the Life Purpose Institute, where I learned a powerful toolkit for transformation. My training focused on a clear life purpose process—helping you uncover what truly matters—along with Byron Katie’s “The Work” to shift limiting thoughts and psychosynthesis to integrate all parts of yourself. This combination forms the foundation of my coaching practice, designed to support practical action and help you reach your goals. Whether you’re looking to establish a meditation practice, build your business, or take meaningful steps toward a more authentic life, my approach offers flexible, actionable guidance for real-world results.
Licensed Practitioner – Centers for Spiritual Living (CSL), 2020
My Religious Science Practitioner training was an intensive program that combined deep personal transformation with practical training in guiding others. It offered a profound dive into core beliefs, how they shape our emotions and experiences, and the tools to support real change.
While my spiritual coaching is rooted in this training, it’s not religious. I approach sessions from a mystical, nondual perspective, helping clients deepen their self-awareness and transformation—without dogma or fixed traditions.
Service in Centers for Spiritual Living – 2020 to present
As part of CSL’s Virtual Practitioner Program (VPP)—a global network of practitioners—I serve beyond a traditional congregation. One of the ways I do this is by facilitating Spiritual Living Circles, where I lead discussions on articles from the Science of Mind Magazine. These gatherings create space for deep reflection and meaningful conversations.
I also volunteer with CSL’s World Ministry of Prayer, offering Spiritual Mind Treatment, a practice of affirmative prayer that helps shift awareness, bring clarity, and align with a deeper sense of purpose. In addition to prayer support, I’ve been a teacher’s assistant in practitioner training programs and have participated in paneling new practitioners, helping to assess their readiness for professional practice.
In 2023 and 2024, I also supported Sunday services at CSL Simi Valley, offering prayers, leading meditations, and providing blessings. While I’m no longer involved in weekly services, I stay connected through virtual meetings and look forward to teaching classes at CSL in the future.
CSL World Ministry of Prayer Phone Team Lead – 2021 to present
In my role as Phone Team Lead for the World Ministry of Prayer, I work with a team of dedicated volunteers who provide affirmative prayer support to those seeking spiritual connection. I help coordinate schedules, lead training sessions, and ensure that we offer a consistent space of encouragement and empowerment.
This work has deepened my ability to listen with compassion, offer non-judgmental support, and help people shift into a place of greater trust and possibility—qualities that naturally weave into my coaching practice as well.
MA in Consciousness Studies, Holmes Institute – 2023
I earned my Master’s in Consciousness Studies from the Holmes Institute in 2023, driven by a lifelong fascination with how different cultures, religions, scientists, psychologists, and philosophers understand consciousness.
One of my most compelling courses was World Religions, which deepened my appreciation for the shared wisdom across traditions. Another standout was Spirituality & the Brain, where we explored how meditation and spiritual experiences shape neural activity. This education reinforced my view that no tradition holds absolute truth—each offers a slice of reality. The insights from these studies weave into my lectures and classes, helping others approach spirituality with curiosity, depth, and openness.
Meditation Teacher – Conejo Valley Adult School, 2023 to present
I teach a secular meditation class locally called Meditation Sampler, that explores the neuroscience, traditions, history, and techniques of meditation. The course covers various styles, including concentration, intention, imagery, mindfulness, chanting, and mantra, giving students the tools to discover what works best for them. In addition to this, I offer a Guided Meditation class, which provides extended practice sessions and can be taken on its own or as a complement to Meditation Sampler. My approach is practical and inclusive, helping students develop a meditation practice that fits their individual needs.
Presenter – Conscious Conversations – 2024 to present,
On the first Saturday, of every other month, I lead Conscious Conversations, an interactive discussion series exploring topics like surrender, unconditional love, and the nature of beliefs. I draw from my Master’s in Consciousness Studies, extensive spiritual training, and personal experience to guide thought-provoking discussions that bridge comparative religion, philosophy, and personal growth.
These conversations invite deep reflection, encouraging participants to explore perspectives beyond belief systems and discover a more expansive understanding of themselves and the world.
